Welcome to the CORE 2026

Registration

The CORE Information Retrieval Forum is a unique day for people who specialise in information retrieval, systematic searching, knowledge or data mining, evidence synthesis, archiving and reference management.

This FREE in-person event on Thursday 29th January 2026 (9:30 - 18:00) at The Catalyst, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK is sponsored by the NIHR Methodology Incubator and NIHR Innovation Observatory hosted at Newcastle University.

Following a team science ethos, information specialists from all disciplines are welcomed to come together and share their stories, their knowledge, their experience and to connect with others in the information community.

After the inaugural event which took place in January 2025, next year’s programme will feature thought-provoking sessions, practical advice, and plenty of opportunities to connect with peers.

Don’t miss out! Get your place booked now and join us for a day of learning, discussion, and collaboration with peers across the information profession.

Please note that to register for tickets and to submit an abstract you will need to register for an Oxford Abstracts account which is a quick and easy process. You will be prompted to do so when you click on the links.

Cancellation

We are anticipating high demand for tickets. If for any reason you register for tickets and can no longer attend we would appreciate if you could cancel your ticket via Oxford Abstracts or by emailing io-events@io.nihr.ac.uk

This will allow us to manage numbers and any waiting list we are operating. Thank you.
